Dad was incredibly young at heart. He was always the first one on any rollercoaster with me and Rob, usually leading the charge rather than following it!
He loved being part of the Beaver and Cubs groups and took great pride in supporting his grandson Leon through those activities.
Dad was a dab hand at anything he put his mind to. Whether it was fixing cars, DIY, gardening, running a business, creating art, or tackling a problem that nobody else could solve, he always seemed to know exactly what to do. He was simply one of those people who could turn their hand to anything and make a success of it.
He also had a solution for everything. If someone needed a button, a battery, a screw, a piece of wire, or just about anything else, Dad would disappear into the garage or shed and return a few minutes later with exactly what was needed. Nothing was ever thrown away because, in Dad’s eyes, everything had a use one day! It used to drive Mum up the wall, but more often than not, he was proved right when that long forgotten item suddenly became the perfect thing for the job.
